Baby Eight - The Second Trimester of Pregnancy

Week 13

The snow from last week has melted and I made it home from DC in time to snuggle in with my family. I'm already tired of being tired but I can't believe I'm in the second trimester. I normally feel like the first trimester lasts forever. I am grateful both to be here, be pregnant and to have had it go relatively quickly.

We still aren't telling people I'm pregnant. It's just weird. People don't always respond so positively to the news that you've having your eighth baby. But the even funnier thing is that when I'm not pregnant, all they can do is ask us when we're going to have another. Thankfully a few friends are very excited for me, making it much easier than it could be to feel buffered, and I have some places to vent.

Okay and a bit of a whine here - did I mention that my finger still hurts from the poke over two weeks ago? Really, this is ridiculous. Maybe I'm sensitive but I'm bruised still. It also makes typing really difficult.

No maternity clothes for me yet, thankfully. I'm also starting to think ahead, like can I still start graduate school in the fall or should I delay, perhaps I can go part time...
