The Original Slumber Bear

About.com Rating threehalf out of Five

By Robin Elise Weiss, LCCE, About.com

The Bottom Line

The recording coming from the actual womb is really neat, but the use of a stuffed animal doesn't make sense. The recording box does come out of the bear.
Pros
  • Multiple colors and styles.
  • Heart beat recording actual heart beat recorded in womb.
Cons
  • Stuffed animal approach isn't best choice.

Description

  • Heart beat recording made inside the human body.
  • Multiple colors and styles of bears to choose from for your baby.
  • Removeable recording that you can attach to the car seat or crib.

Guide Review - The Original Slumber Bear

The Original Slumber Bear has several colors combinations for boys, girls or generic colors. It also offers a silky version of the same colors. The silky can be used for your child as he or she gets older.

The bear is cute and makes this product more attractive. Though newborns are not supposed to sleep with stuffed animals. The people at Prince Lionheart figured this out and made the box containing the recording removable. It also has a strap so you can fasten it to the crib or car seat.

My baby likes to listen to the heart beat recording and it helps calm her. We use it more in the car than anywhere else. Our toddlers have run off with the bear and often bring it to us with different objects inside the velcro pouch that originally held the box.

This is a cute product for a baby shower. The one real draw back is that parents need to know that their baby shouldn't sleep with the stuffed bear.
