Diapers are an important part of a new parents life. Choosing the wrong diaper can leaving you with a huge mess from leaks and other not so nice parts of wearing diapers that don't fit well.
Disposable Diapers or Cloth Diapers
Disposable diapers are pretty common, but cloth diapers have their benefits too. Do your research on which is better for your family. Do you have the ability to wash cloth diapers? Do you have a diaper service in your area? Do you simply want to use one or the other? There is also the option of using cloth at home or certain parts of the day while doing disposables at other points.
Size of the Baby
When your baby is little you may need to use a specific diaper due to the size of your baby. This is mostly true of very small babies. They do make preemie diapers for smaller babies, usually you have to purchase these through a hospital, but occasionally you can find them elsewhere. If your baby is large you can simply go up in size.
Shape of Your Baby
If your baby has skinny legs or heavy legs you may need to adjust the size of the diaper while ignoring the weight guidelines listed on the sides of the package. Pulling the diaper tighter might work, or may make your diapers leak. Find diapers with gathered edges that hug your baby's leg no matter what their frame size.
